Legendary Build Quality
This beautiful boat was designed by John Lidgard using the rare & highly desirable hybrid construction type using the exceptional Kauri cold-molding construction protocol: 1&1/2" with double reinforcing 45 degree cross lamination of 1/4" layers for a total thickness of 1.5+ inches then glassed over on the outside. This rare wood, not subject to dry rot & fully epoxy saturated & encapsulated in this construction type. "A rocket, but a comfy one", remarked Robert H. Perry.

Legendary History
Built by John Lidgard of the legendary New Zealand Lidgards, Final Approach is of auspicious beginnings. Designed custom for World Champion Sailor, DJ Johnson, she was so well-known after his time sailing her in races around Hawaii that the 3-day race which still takes place in DJ's honour has as its trophy, a beautiful half model of Final Approach herself!

Legendary One-off Value
Comfortable for cruising and fast enough to race, but so sturdy that she has plenty of life for another generation of sailors, Final Approach is a unique boat providing a unique offer for a new Captain and their family. We wish we could keep her longer, but we're having to give her up with haste. So if you're interested, you're in for a great deal!

Final Approach was going to be our family's forever-boat, originally bought in the brothers' names so it would live on to make memories for our next generation. Sadly, after returning to Europe for medical treatment, her newest captain won't be returning to her, so we're having to wave goodbye.
